"masz grype" - "You have the flu", zaś
"mam grype" - "I've got the flu"...

Skąd mam wiedzieć, o które chodzi?

I - ja,you - ty,to chyba logiczne.
Natomiast "have" i "have got" oznacza posiadanie,coś mieć.
"You have the flu","You have got(you've got)the flu" obydwie formy oznaczają to samo,i w tym wypadku można stosować zamiennie.To samo przy użyciu każdego innego zaimka osobowego.

Oba zdania są poprawne, pomimo że wyglądają inaczej.

"have got" ma to samo znaczenie, co "have", czyli "mieć, posiadać".

I have got a dog = I have a dog.

I have many friends = I've got many friends
