Why "Tom's Restaurant" is without "the"?

According to the lesson one should not use "the" when the name of restaurant contains the noun. In this case we have "(...) Restaurant" and the word "Restaurant" is a noun. I believe the reason not to use "the" here is rather because the name is in possessive form. Am I right?

Przed nazwami sklepów i restauracji zawierającymi rzeczownik stosujemy przedimek "the". Formy dzierżawcze natomiast są wyjątkiem i w tym wypadku przedimka nie stawiamy.

Zgadza się. Gdy w nazwie występuje imię w formie dzierżawczej, nie stawiamy przedimka ;)
