I nie wiem jak je przetłumaczyć.

Gdyby było to: I don`t have rubber.Oznaczałoby: nie mam gumy/gumki(do ścierania),
I don`t do rubber-nie robię gumy .

Jedyne, co przychodzi mi do głowy i ma sens, to np.:

CLIENT: Could you change my tires? (albo tyres w UK)
MECHANIC: No, ma'am, I don't do rubber.

czy coś podobnego, gdzie "rubber" byłoby określeniem na cokolwiek gumowego, np. gumowe części itd. Takie znaczenie tego słowa jest silnie zależne od kontekstu, w jakim się je wypowiada. Tak w zasadzie, mniej poważnie, słownikowo pasowałoby jeszcze "rubber" jako slangowe określenie prezerwatywy, jeśli ktoś jest zwolennikiem braku antykoncepcji i chce to wyraźnie zadeklarować ;) Ale to na pewno nie w tej sytuacji, tym bardziej, że to uchodzi za slang amerykański, nie brytyjski.

piotr.grela - A znalazłem definicje w Urban Dictionary, która ma logiczny sens- "rubber" - znaczy ignorować coś, (odbijać od siebie, jak guma).

tak naprawdę tłumaczenie zależy od kontekstu, w jakim padło to zdanie. Nie znając go, nie jesteśmy w stanie podać prawidłowego znaczenia dla "do rubber", więc czekamy na kontekst! :)

piotr.grela - W sumie trudno mi określić kontekst, bo to zdanie usłyszalem gdzieś na ulicy. Znam znaczenia słowa rubber z Etutora :-) ale całe zdanie wydawało mi się bardzo dziwne i dlatego je zapamiętałem. - vor 5 Jahren geändert: vor 5 Jahren
